Why VR Emergency @Sea?

Our primary goal is to elevate maritime safety by immersingprofessionals in realistic VR simulations that replicate various enclosed spacesfound on ships, including engine rooms, cargo holds, and storage areas. Throughthese simulations, we aim to equip individuals with the skills and knowledgeneeded to navigate challenging scenarios, such as fire incidents, gas leaks, andother emergencies.

Project Objectives

The primary objective of the VREmergency @Sea project is to enhance maritime safety through immersive VR simulations for training maritime professionals. These simulations replicate confined ship spaces like engine rooms, cargo holds, and storage areas, allowing trainees to handle emergencies such as fires and gas leaks. The project focuses on critical areas including air quality monitoring, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and specialized firefighting techniques. By providing realistic, hands-on training, the project aims to improve preparedness and response capabilities, ensuring maritime professionals are well-equipped to manage emergencies and enhance safety at sea.

Ultimately, the VREmergency @Sea project aims to foster a safer maritime environment by equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage emergencies in confined spaces, thereby reducing the risks and enhancing overall safety at sea.
